It's been a busy year and the wombat surveys were a bit slow this year. We have just completed the spring sampling at our wombat release sites (a big thanks to my volunteer Kathi for her help!) and Bumper, the first released wombat is still going strong. He is still habituated to humans but seems to be doing okay in the wombat world. The data has been collected from his and his wild counterpart (Houdini) GPS collars. At a glance the thing that stands out is that Bumper used burrows far less frequently that Houdini. Analysis of the data is next on the list!
